School website design and development

A site parents can use on the phone they actually have, and your office can update without calling anybody.

Most school websites are a brochure someone built once and nobody has touched since. The notices are from two sessions ago, the results page still says “coming soon”, and the office cannot change a word without ringing the person who made it — who has moved on.

We build the other kind. Admission enquiries land in an inbox rather than disappearing into a form nobody checks. Notices and results go up in minutes, from the school office, on a Tuesday afternoon, without a developer. And the whole thing is built to load on a mid-range Android phone over patchy mobile data, because that is what a parent is holding when they look you up.

What a school website actually needs

Not twenty pages. A parent arrives with one of four questions: is admission open, what does it cost, is my child’s result out, and where exactly are you. Everything else is secondary, and a site that buries those four behind a photo carousel is failing at its job.

  • An admission enquiry form that emails the office and keeps a record
  • A notice board the office updates itself
  • Results, published per class or per examination
  • Photo galleries for events, sports day and annual functions
  • Faculty pages, so parents can see who teaches their child
  • Fee tables, stated plainly
  • An events calendar
  • Click-to-call and WhatsApp, because that is how enquiries actually arrive

English and Hindi, properly

Bilingual is not a translate button. Every field on the site holds both languages, English required and Hindi optional, and each falls back on its own — so a notice can go up in English on Monday and be translated on Thursday without breaking the page in between. That matters in a district school, where the person writing the notice and the person reading it often prefer different languages.

The office runs it, not us

Behind the site is a small admin panel built for someone who manages a school office, not for a developer. Publishing a notice is a form with a title and a body. Adding an album is choosing photographs. There is nothing to install, it works in a browser, and we train your staff on it before go-live and leave a short written guide at the desk.

What you own

The domain is registered in the school’s name from the first day, not ours. The code and the content are yours. If you ever want to move to somebody else, everything is already in your name and we will hand over the keys without an argument. We would rather keep clients because the work is good than because leaving is difficult.

Questions we get asked first.

How much does a school website cost in India?

It depends on the number of pages and whether you need the CMS, so we quote after a twenty-minute call rather than publishing a number that would be wrong for most schools. What we will say is that a part payment starts the work and the rest is due on go-live, against a written scope, and that hosting and maintenance are billed separately and annually so you always know which is which.

Can our office update the website without a developer?

Yes — that is the point of it. Notices, results, photo albums, faculty and fee tables are all editable from an admin panel by whoever runs your office. We train them before go-live and leave a written guide.

Do you build websites for colleges and coaching centres too?

Yes. The same system covers a Playgroup-to-Class-XII school, a degree college and a coaching institute — the difference is which sections you switch on. A coaching centre usually wants batches and results forward; a school usually wants admissions and notices forward.

Will it work on a slow connection?

It is built for one. Pages are small, images are compressed on the way in, and the site is served as static files from a server in India. A parent on a mid-range Android phone on mobile data is the case we test, not an afterthought.

Tell us what you need.

A twenty-minute call is usually enough to scope it and give you a number. Mon to Sat, 10am to 7pm.
